Recommended PDF Reader Apps
- Adobe Acrobat Reader — Free for Mac and PC, iPhone and iPad, and Android
- Apple Preview — Built into every Mac
Three Ways to Navigate Your eBook
In Adobe Reader: Click the small arrow on the left side of the window to open the sidebar, then click the Bookmarks icon. You'll see a nested table of contents — click any item to jump directly to that page.
In Apple Preview: Go to View menu and select "Table of Contents." You'll see expandable sections — click any link to jump to that page.
2. Use the Indications Index
All page numbers in the index are clickable — just click any page number to jump directly to that page.
Tip: If you click a page and it's not quite what you were looking for, use the "back" function to return to the index:
- Adobe Reader: Press ⌘+Left Arrow (Mac) or Alt+Left Arrow (Windows)
- Apple Preview: Press ⌘+[
3. Use the Search Function
In Adobe Reader: Click the magnifying glass icon and type your search term.
In Apple Preview: Use the search box in the upper right corner. You'll see a list of all results — click any result to jump to that location.
Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your eBook
- Full-text search is one of the biggest advantages of the digital format — use it liberally to find specific points, conditions, or concepts
- Keep it open on your computer or tablet in your treatment room for quick reference during patient visits
- Use the back function freely — it makes browsing the index and table of contents much faster
- Zoom in on drawings and photographs when you need to see anatomical details more clearly
